In a vertically unstable southwesterly
whose gusts were officially clocked at 28 MPH, Stoertebecker held
the lead after three races. But Diversion again came from behind
to win the final 12 races and the day.

October 7 RaceDay
(posted October 8) Four boats turned out for racing on Lake Elsdon
on an ideal sailing day: 6-12 knot southerly, occasional planing
conditions, and gorgeous clouds. The previous all-time record for races
completed (17) was smashed (would you believe 20 in 2-1/2 hours?).
The score was tied after 15 races, but Diversion took four bullets
in the last five races to win the day going away.
